In 1997 a 20 million-gallon irrigation reservoir was built, filled in winter and used in summer to replenish the stream from which the crops are irrigated. It covers approximately 7.5 acres and was carefully sited to blend in with the landscape, it's banks sown with a mix of native grasses and wild flowers. It is already attracting waterfowl, Great Crested Grebe and Oyster Catchers having been sighted and in 1999 & 2000 Shelduck bred there.
